Important session on academic publishing

(AERA annual meeting, Toronto April, 2019)

As many English-medium academic journals have become international in scope, they are seeing increased submissions from authors outside of the United States. And while many of our international submissions are high-q
uality, there are also a sizeable percentage of international submissions in which it is clear that the authors have not received mentoring in what is needed to publish in a top-tier English-medium journal like Theory & Research in Social Education (TRSE):

At the 2019 AERA meeting in Toronto, Wayne Journell is going to be co-facilitating a professional development session that provides advice and mentorship for international scholars who wish to publish in top-tier English-medium journals. He will be presenting along with the editors of Journal of Research in Science Teaching, Research in the Teaching of English, and Journal for Research in Mathematics Education, as well as MJ Curry, a faculty member at University of Rochester, who does research on international scholars publishing in English-medium journals and Tsafrir Goldberg, professor at the University of Haifa and a member of the TRSE Editorial Board.
The session will be on Saturday April 6th, from 8:00am-12:00pm at the AERA 2019 meeting in Toronto.
Participants will be able to sign up soon on the AERA website. Please direct any questions to Dr. Wayne Journell at awjourne@uncg.edu
